I trained at Lambeth College as an integrative counsellor which means that I use more than one approach to working with clients. I currently use Person-Centred and Psychodynamic techniques. The Person-Centred approach focuses more on the here and now, allowing the client to address their concerns in the present whereas Psychodynamic practice explores the individual’s past and the psychological habits that may have been formed from childhood and beyond and which may still be having a deeper, less conscious influence in the present.
I originally trained as an actor and have worked in many different industries including catering, financial services and journalism. I also trained and continue to work as a Shiatsu therapist and Qigong instructor. Working with Shiatsu has shown me how often psychological issues can be stored in the body and I have often found that bodywork can release hidden tensions and lead to greater psychological clarity and, vice versa, that exploring and processing psychological issues can have a profound effect on the body leading to a greater sense of well-being.
I look forward to working with you and helping you find the tools to live a happier and more fulfilled life.
